This is a 7 hole extended scale drone flute, which has the traditional 6 hole configuration plus a seventh thumb hole on the back of the flute for more expression and creativity. Learning curve is absolutely nonexistent, it is simply a matter of opening the thumb hole, going up the scale (from lower note to higher). To play the 6 hole configuration, keep the thumb hole covered.

What does it mean when the flute is built to order:

When the flute is on Built to Order it simply means just that – I would have to build it for you. You can place your order as you would with the regular purchase, the only difference is that it would take me from 2-3 or 3-4 weeks to finish it and mail it to you, depending on the load of present orders. If you don’t mind waiting I would love to recreate the flute for you. If you would rather have a custom flute or certain modifications added to the flute in this listing, instead you are welcome to fill out an Order a Custom Flute form.

I will do my best to recreate the flute, depending on wood availability from my supplier and my “Cutoff Box” which is where I keep pieces of wood from other flute projects to add accents to new flute orders. If the wood of your choice for the accents is not available, I will let you know and suggest closest replacement in look and feel, to complement the overall look and color palette of the flute.
