7 Hole Alaskan Yellow Cedar Drone Flute in the Key of Low D | This is a 7 hole Extended Scale drone with the seventh hole being the thumb hole on the back of the flute. Included with the drone is a leather strap which you can use to cover the seventh thumb hole to play the flute as a standard 6 hole configuration. Alaskan Yellow Cedar has a wonderful mellow and meditative tone. This is the slowest growing tree in the North America, as it grows in the region of Alaska, so it’s growth rings are very tight due to cold temperatures. This wood is also used for acoustic guitar tops. Materials: Flute body is made of Yellow Cedar and the accents are of African Padauk wood, which is naturally deep red in color. I used a red Agate slice to inlay into the flute to complement the color of Padauk wood. Deer hide leather straps are used to tie the Totem to the flute. Dimensions: – Overall Length – 28 inches – Bore Diameter – 1 inch – From mouth end to the center of 6th hole – 12 inches – From mouth end to the center of 1st hole – 19 inches – Largest distance between playing holes (hole 3 to 2) is 1 and 5/8th inches – Largest playing hole diameter is 5/16th of an inch

7 Hole Drone Flute in the Key of Low D of Bird's Eye Maple and Cocobolo woods with Feather Carving | This is a 7 hole Extended Scale drone with the seventh hole being the thumb hole on the back of the flute. Included with the drone is a leather strap which you can use to cover the seventh thumb hole to play the flute as a standard 6 hole configuration. Materials: Flute body is built of gorgeous and rare Birdseye Maple with equally stunning and highly prized Cocobolo wood accents and carved feather. Finish choices are: Polyurethane or Rubio Monocoat oil which is a true state-of-the-art oil thanks to its revolutionary binder. I have found Rubio Monocoat to be amazing at protecting the flutes as it forms a molecular bond with the wood fibers – this product is absolutely safe for the human body. The inside of the sound bore is left unfinished, to preserve natural resonance of the wood. This drone flute is priced higher to reflect the rare woods used to built it with, which are hard to come by, especially Cocobolo.
